Repeat Prescriptions
Please note that we require at least two working days to process repeat medication as we cannot keep all items in stock and may need time to order them from our wholesaler. If there is a delay beyond our control we will try to contact you by phone.
We do not take requests for repeat medication over the telephone for safety reasons. This can be done as follows:
- By using the repeat medication slip attached to your last prescription or attached to the back of your packet. Please tick the items you require and either place in the box by the front door or post it to the surgery.
- You can order your repeat prescriptions using our EMIS on-line service by clicking on this link: CLICK HERE. Please ask at Reception to register for the online services or email

- If for any reason you do not have the printed slip but you know the name of the medicines you require, send a note of these along with your name, address and date of birth, and we can accept this instead.

Dispensing and Non-Dispensing patients
If you are a "Dispensing patient" this means that you live more than a mile from your nearest chemist and you can collect your medicines from the surgery. "Non-dispensing" patients are those who live within one mile of their nearest chemist and we unable to dispense medication except in an emergency - this means that we will issue a paper prescription for you to collect your medicines from a chemist of your choice.
If you are a non-dispensing patient there are several options:
- You can collect your paper prescription direct from our dispensary
- You can send us a stamped addressed envelope and we can post you the prescription. Obviously this is reliant on the postal service which is beyond our control.
- We have a courtesy service with The Old Swan Pharmacy in Kimbolton - we send prescriptions to them so you could have your medication dispensed by them if you wish. if you would like us to do this, please mark clearly to this effect each time you send us your repeat request.
- We can also arrange for your prescription to go to Boots the Chemist in St Neots, Tesco's in St Neots, or Lloyds Pharmacy at Eaton Socon Health Centre. Please ask one of the dispensers for details.
- If you live in Little Paxton or Buckden, you can take your repeat slip to the pharmacy there and they will forward them to us to dispense ready for you to collect. This takes longer than our usual 48 hour service.
Please remember to state clearly where you would like your prescription sent each time you forward your repeat request. We have a lot of patients and we cannot remember everyone's request.
Over-the-counter medicines
We also stock a selection of items of medication for sale without a prescription. These include popular brands for minor complaints such as pain relief, cough & cold medicines, teething gel and eye drops. Please see the display in the surgery or ask a dispenser for details.
